Chiltern Rangers announce strategic partnership with Marlow Studios to champion the environment and community

Chiltern Rangers is delighted to announce a new partnership with the team at Marlow Studios, working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of the environmental and community commitments embedded within the project’s planning approval.  This partnership places environmental stewardship, biodiversity and community engagement at  the heart of the site’s long-term development.

Chiltern Rangers will act as a dedicated environmental champion within the project team, supporting and influencing decision-making from a conservation and community perspective.

“Our approach to protecting habitats and the wildlife that depend on them, is rooted in working closely with local communities,” said a spokesperson for Chiltern Rangers. “In particular, we believe young people from all parts of our community, must be given meaningful opportunities to develop practical skills, knowledge and confidence through hands-on environmental action.”

Chiltern Rangers works extensively with schools, colleges and universities to bring young people into the landscape through impactful, real-world projects. As part of this  initiative, partnerships are already being established with Great Marlow School, Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and many other education providers to engage in the environmental projects. This enhances a range of skills, knowledge and experiences and ensuring the site delivers lasting benefits for both people and nature.
Spokesperson for Marlow Studios said:

“Chiltern Rangers have a great record over many years in helping protect and improve the Chilterns and beyond through conservation initiatives, not least via their engagement with schools and young people.  Marlow Studios is committed to being a careful steward of our ecology and environment, so we are proud to be partnering with the Rangers in our commitment to enhancing and creating habitats for biodiversity.”

Following the Secretary of State’s approval in November, Chiltern Rangers identified early involvement as the most effective way to ensure the project fulfils its commitments. This proactive approach will enable site management activity that might not otherwise have taken place, delivering early environmental impacts.

The partnership will also create opportunities for local businesses to support positive change through Chiltern Ranger’s “Be a Ranger” programme, enabling companies to contribute directly to conservation and community outcomes.

In the coming weeks and months, local residents, groups & organisations will be invited to take part in a range of volunteer sessions, helping to shape and enhance the site as part of their local area. As the scheme develops, there will be a wide range of on-site and off-site opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities to contribute to this ambitious, long-term project.

Chiltern Rangers looks forward to working alongside Marlow Studios, the local community and partner organisations to deliver a project that leaves a positive environmental and social legacy for generations to come.
