High Wycombe Train Station
We are part way through our transformation project at High Wycombe train station with fabulous partners Buckinghamshire New University and Chiltern Railways. We are transforming the station into a more welcoming, attractive and meaningful landmark for visitors. And already as you can see on the left, the Common Blue butterfly is already enjoying the wildflowers.
We will do this through biodiversity enhancements, creating new artwork depicting nature & heritage and improved signage and information for visitors.
Other community organisations will play a key part in this partnership including Wycombe Museum, Wycombe Wanderers Foundation & Wycombe Arts Centre.
Themed with a light and dark blue colour scheme, acknowledging our very fabulous Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, the transformation will provide a valuable, biodiverse habitat for a range of wildlife with planting schemes for pollinators.
The local community will play a large part in this project and we are looking to recruit volunteers of all ages & abilities including individuals, partner organisations, community groups and local businesses.
We believe that together we are stronger if we work to promote our place, its heritage and nature. We want to knit together the town’s public spaces by connecting the railway with anchor institutions and historic landmarks, its heritage and biodiversity by means of a cultural and creative walkway running from the station to the Wycombe Swan, Buckinghamshire New University and Wycombe Hospital.

Latest News…
A late late lunchtime session on 27 November – we were delighted to be joined by staff from OD group – who are busy putting the infrastructure into the Brunel Shed ready for its opening!
We weeded (again) planted up the last few Scabious and woodchipped the main beds. We got the edges done on the main mini meadow and then got to cut back and raked off despite there being so much litter.
Looking forward to spring and seeing it all come alive again!
Transformation of the electric boxes – thanks Dan Wilson. And more fab volunteers!
Lots more planting, wildflower meadow and a Common Blue butterfly
Artwork installed, raised beds made, happy volunteers!
