River Wye Restoration – Kingsmead, High Wycombe

12 February, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us to continue restoring this beautiful rare chalk stream. Tasks will include cutting, thinning and chipping shrubs and trees which will allow more light to reach the river which in turn will encourage plant growth. This process should create narrower channels speeding up the river flow to help remove the silt. Ideally Chalk streams should be narrow, meandering streams, not wide silty rivers.

Meet us at 12.30pm at Chiltern Rangers depot. Park in the Kingsmead car park, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe HP11 1SL. We will be working at the Kingsmead Rec. which is a short walk from the depot.

Wear suitable clothing and bring wellies, waders will be available if tasks require going into the water. All tools, gloves, hot and cold drinks with biscuits will be supplied.

Look forward to seeing you. Thank you for your continued support.
