River Wye Restoration – Kingsmead 12.30 – 4pm

15 January, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us to continue restoring this beautiful rare chalk stream.  Tasks will involve cutting, thinning and chipping of shrubs and some trees, to allow more light into the river.  This will encourage plant growth naturally to enable it to narrow and speed river flow to help remove the silt.  Chalk streams should be narrow, meandering streams.  Not wide silty rivers.

Meet 12.30pm at Chiltern Rangers depot. Park in the Kingsmead car park, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe HP11 1SL.  A short walk from the depot to the Kingsmead Rec.

Wear suitable clothing, bring wellies, waders will be available if tasks require going into the water.  All tools, gloves, hot and cold drinks with biscuits will be supplied.

Look forward to seeing you.  Thank you for your continued support.
