Holtspur Bank Community Coppice – Holtspur, nr Beaconsfield
21 February @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm
Help the Friends of Holtspur Bank Nature Reserve. Chiltern Rangers are teaming up to help coppice overgrown hazel in the woodland part of the nature reserve. This will be a tree thinning and wildflower glade/scallop making session in order to vary the age structure of the woods and provide a more varied habitat for all the wildlife that lives there.
Meet at 11.00am. Spread out and park in the streets around Cherry Tree Road, Holtspur HP9 1BN. There is a footpath opposite the Cherry Tree Road, Holtspur Lane Junction. Walk down the footpath and we will put some A boards out to direct you to the woodland coppice area.
Wear sturdy shoes and warm outdoor clothing. Bring some lunch. All tools, gloves, hot drinks and biscuits will be supplied.
We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for your continued support.
Our aim is to make conservation based volunteering accessible and enjoyable for young people. 1 If the person is in Year 9 or below from 1st September that year, they must be accompanied by an appropriate adult - parent guardian carer etc. 2 If they are in year 10-13 then they can attend alone but must: a) be signed in and out by a responsible adult on the day who must leave emergency contact details or b) be pre-authorised by completion of the 'U18 & Work Placement Form' giving consent and disclosure of medical information in writing by an appropriate adult who must also supply their emergency contact details. If pre-authorised in writing, the young person can sign themselves in (as an U18) at events but must provide the emergency contact details for that day.
