Be A Ranger Taster Days for Young People

A good way of getting to know us and introducing young people to the world of conservation and making a difference to the local environment is to join us for a Be A Ranger Taster Day.

We partner with schools, colleges and youth organisations serving young people of a wide variety of ages and needs.

Together with your team, dedicated ranger(s) will look after a class/half class/group for a session at a special wildlife site close to where they live. We offer a whole variety activities at different times of year including:

  • Woodland coppicing or glade creation
  • Scrub management on chalk grassland butterfly sites
  • Litter blitzes on land and in rivers
  • School wildlife area development
  •  Summer Habitat Investigations to bring your science curriculum alive

All of the kids have really enjoyed the days with you guys. And the adults too! We look forward to further sessions next year.
Many thanks

A massive thank you for such an excellent INSET day. We are all super excited about our Butterfly Curriculum. I feel so lucky to be working with Chiltern Rangers.

The price for a taster session is from £375 plus VAT depending on the number of rangers needed, the needs and number of your young people and staff you want to bring.

Our minibus is often available to take half classes out to save on transport costs that are often prohibitive.

Take a look at our Young People Be A Ranger video that will give you an idea of how much young people of all ages value their experience with Chiltern Rangers.

If you would like more information, please call us on 01494 474486 or complete this form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

We can also help you to develop your grounds for outdoor and science learning and wildlife and embed that into your curriculum involving your students and staff in the design and build at every stage.

Some of our long term partner schools are becoming butterfly curriculum schools bringing their science curriculum to life through INSET days and staff mentoring.

Do contact us if you think we may be able to help!
