World Mental Health day

by | Oct 10, 2018 | News |

It’s #WorldMentalHealth day and never before have we been made so aware of the invisible problems which impact so many people so seriously. Yet still too many people suffer in silence. Speak up, it’s OK not to be OK – ask for help. You cannot pour from an empty bucket but nor can you cope if your bucket is already full…
Make time for you every day and do something that makes you happy.
For me, that is always being in nature. It lifts my spirits, it gives me focus and purpose.
My best days at work are always those days when I’m working onsite with great people – staff and/or volunteers.  Unsurprisingly some of these people who are often fighting their own battles and demons. To help them too, is why we are Chiltern Rangers.
Our message today is simple, go outside. Even for 10 minutes – especially today the sun is shining and the sky is cloudless. Listen to the birds. Breathe…
Hopefully that will give you the strength to carry on.
Our doors are open to you all to come and volunteer it can be so rewarding especially if life is a struggle.
Being outside, socialising with others, giving back to your community,  physical exertion of conservation work and noticing nature are all key components. See more at:

Until next time
